the elul tour
In this increasingly fraught and disconnected world, tending to our hearts and souls is more important than ever. This is the goal of the Elul tour: to cultivate connection through the powerful and potent act of singing together. In a concert, feelings of warmth and resonance come from hearing a familiar song and singing along. In our elul tour gatherings, those feelings arise through learning a new melody together, meaning anyone can find their way in, regardless of prior knowledge or background. The use of texts and themes of the High Holidays builds connection with our spiritual ancestors, and with Jewish community past, present, and future. Guided moments of breath, reflection, and stillness invite connection inwardly to the still small voice inside, and outwardly to all beings, both of which one might call g?d. The experience is crafted intentionally to heighten and deepen these much needed feelings of connection, compassion, and community, which is modeled by the musical ensemble itself. These incredibly talented musicians from all over the country seek not to play, but to pray, to collaboratively create a sacred container through which love might flow, for us and for everyone present.
